The Challenge in Oil Series I is a response to a challenge by a colleague of the artist’s.  The concept was simple: create a new piece in oil every few days in succession.  The series started in October 1996 and completed around February 1997.  All pieces are completed on paper and are all the same dimension and vertical orientation of 11.5 inches X 10 inches.
